Cozy and cute these adorable fox socks are the perfect reading socks for those cold Fall & Winter days! My children love the playful design and thick warm feel of these socks . . . it’s like wrapping their little feet in a huge from Mom. The pattern makes itty bitty baby sizes all the way up to adult mens and women’s sizes so the whole family can match in these stripes sock slippers this season. I’ve written a few crochet sock patterns but this is the first with full details on the striped design and an HD video tutorial. These socks were actually inspired by one of my very first crochet pattern designs in 2014 . . the ‘Aspen Animal Leg Warmers‘. At the time I did not have the skillset for a sock pattern and leg warmers were making a come back. Fast forward almost 10 years and it feels pretty neat to give that original concept a huge upgrade.
My kids LOVE these thick cozy socks! They’re perfect for around the house on those cold Fall & Winter days. They have made great gifts for birthdays or holidays as well. You can have a lot of fun with the stripes and colours you use too!
Speaking of colours . . Lion Brand® Touch of Merino® was the yarn used for this pattern and it came in a variety of colours including ‘Black’, ‘Oxford Grey’, ‘Amberglow’, and ‘Ivy’ used in the design. Unfortunately, since fine tuning and releasing this pattern ‘Touch of Merino’ has been discontinued. There are MANY substitutions out there though (HERE’S A GREAT YARN SUBSTITUTION LIST) and any light weight yarn (size 3 / ‘DK’ / 8 ply) will work with this pattern! 🙂
