Using Lion Brand’s Rewind Tape Yarn is always a treat! It’s soft and the colour options are perfect for accessories. It gives the look of raffia yarn without the rough texture (a plus when crocheting). Being a tween in the 90s meant bucket hats were my jam. I remember having a denim patchwork one that was my constant companion one Summer. This trend really brings me back. Bucket hats offer great sun protection without the tight (sometimes uncomfortable) fit of a baseball hat.
I of course wanted the instructions to create multiple sizes so that Mom + mini or Dad & his kiddo can match on family vacations or casual weekends by the pool. You could make a different colour for each member of your crew or whip some up in matching yarn to twin all Summer long. This pattern also includes instructions for a doll size hat which my daughters loved the idea of!

sc – Single Crochet: Insert hook into stitch/chain, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook
BLO – Back Loop Only: work into only the back loop (when looking at top of stitch)
sl st – Slip Stitch: insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through stitch and loop on hook
