Miller Crochet Market Bag – FREE Pattern

This beginner friendly crochet bag was such a fun pattern to create and it’s an absolute honour to have it featured on the Make & Do Crew blog.  Jess, the crazy talented designer behind Make & Do Crew, is someone I’ve admired and followed for a while (she actually helped inspire me to start blogging patterns for free) so I jumped at the chance to work with her.

I used Lion Brand’s Rewind Tape Yarn for this project (you can order it from their website HERE) and was shocked by the yarn’s soft texture.  I was expecting a rough raffia like feel but this yarn is velvety and almost feels like felt.  If you’re looking for something with a Summer vibe that’s also lightweight and easy to work with then this yarn is for you!

  1. I am anxious to give the Miller Market Bag a go. Saw it on Make & Do Crew Crochet. I’m thinking that this would be very easy to put a pretty lining with a soft print in this bag. It would give it extra strength as well as being attractive. Have you done that?

    1. I LOVE that idea!! I haven’t done it myself but I think it would be fairly easy. Before stitching your bag together I would measure (because your rectangle may differ slightly from my measurements) and then cut and sew your material to the same size. You could sew the material together the same way you did the bag (but with the ‘good side’ of the fabric facing in) and then stitch the liner into the bag once they’re both assembled. If you do it I’d love to see a picture (@lakesideloops on IG) . . . SUCH A GREAT IDEA!!! Thanks Sharon! 🙂
